Since our establishment in 1982, our agency has grown into one of the largest privately-owned insurance agencies in Northern Indiana, licensed to serve clients across the United States.
Our Story
The DeHayes Group was founded in 1982 as a commercial property and casualty insurance agency with three employees. Organic growth, acquisitions and development of new product lines enabled us to become the largest locally owned insurance agency in the region. We are committed to remaining locally owned and independent. We are proud to have internally perpetuated the agency twice. The agency is currently owned and managed by Jeff Pikel, Kevin Burns and Nick Groves, who look forward to leading the next generation into ownership.
On March 12th, 2021, we lost one of our managing partners, Dave Relue. Dave was an amazing person who was a friend to all, he made a huge impact on everyone he encountered, and he will be deeply missed. It is very important to us that both his personal and professional legacy continues. “There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, their light remains.”
